Hi there! My name is Allison McCaughey, and I’m passionate about performing, choreographing, and directing. I also founded FlyBy Theatre, an arts education program that aims to help individuals discover their creative potential. I’m thrilled to share this journey with others!
I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, and have been a theatre artist for over 20 years. After graduating from musical theatre school, I performed in various theatres across Canada and even toured the USA. As I continued my journey, I became increasingly intrigued by the creative process. That’s when I decided to return to university and earn a master’s degree in choreography. Since then, I’ve been a creator in many capacities. I pride myself on new experiences and often find myself “jumping into the deep end,” challenging myself as an artist in new ways.
Today, I have the privilege of performing, directing, choreographing, teaching, and creating welcoming spaces filled with kindness and integrity. I am currently one of the Neil Monroe Intern Directors at the Shaw Festival, and one of my absolute favourite things about being an artist is collaborating with others to bring beautiful work to life!
